Demi Lovato pegs Katy Perry, Lady GaGa to join 'X Factor' USA

Demi Lovato has recommended that Katy Perry and Lady GaGa replace Britney Spears and LA Reid on The X Factor USA's judging panel.

The 'Skyscraper' singer recently signed on to join Simon Cowell as an X Factor judge for the second year in a row.

Lovato discussed her decision to return to The X Factor on Jimmy Kimmel Live and also offered her picks on who should join her as a judge.

"I would love for either Lady GaGa or Katy Perry [to join the show]," she told Jimmy Kimmel.

The 20-year-old musician also leapt to the defence of X Factor season two host Khloe Kardashian, when Kimmel joked should be fired because "she can't read".

"You know what? She's a very lovely girl, and she's very sweet," Lovato replied.

Kardashian and co-host Mario Lopez have both expressed a desire to return to The X Factor, but no announcements have been made about this year's presenters.

The X Factor returns to Fox this fall.
