Demi Lovato Set For Biggest UK Hit So Far

This week's midweek chart figures indicate that Demi Lovato will score her first ever UK Top 30 single this weekend.

The star has previously only peaked at No. 33 with 'This Is Me' and No. 35 with 'La La Land' in this country, whilst her albums Don't Forget and Here We Go Again have landed at the bottom end of the Top 200.

'Skyscraper', released on Sunday (February 26), was at No. 26 in yesterday's update, according to The Official Charts Company. However, it has already begun losing momentum on the iTunes rankings, and will need to fight for more sales if it's going to still be in the Top 30 by the time the final listings are revealed on Sunday.

The song was recorded in 2010 in the midst of the star's well-documented personal struggles with self-harming, an eating disorder, and undiagnosed bipolar. It reached No. 10 in the US last year amid a heap of critical acclaim.

Her former Disney co-stars Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus have each enjoyed much more success on our shores, with Gomez landing at No. 7 with 'Naturally' in 2010 and Cyrus scoring four Top 20 hits since 2008.

Demi's single 'Skyscraper' is out now and the album Unbroken follows on Monday (March 5).

She recently revealed that she considered quitting her career in the public eye when she checked into rehab to deal with her troubles.
