'Recovery Is A Beautiful Thing': Demi Lovato Remembers Spending New Year's Eve 'In Tears' In Rehab

Demi Lovato had an amazing night last night, by the looks of things - a stark contrast to New Year's Eve two years ago when she was recovering in rehab.

The singer and X Factor USA judge took to her Twitter page last night to remember her long road back from rock bottom.

She was treated for a self-harming addiction, an eating disorder, and bipolar disorder in 2010.

She wrote: "So crazy to look back and reflect on how much has changed this last year... I wonder what will happen in 2013?!

"Two years ago, I watched the ball drop on TV in rehab and cried my eyes out. Tonight I'm on the beach with my closest, most loyal friends sipping coffee and sharing how beautiful life is and how far we've come. Recovery is a beautiful thing friends.. Life is good, God is great!"

She added: "Everyone please be careful and smart tonight. NYE is about celebrating the past year and the year to come.. Set goals and dream big

"By the way - just reminding teens out there that you don't have to drink on NYE to have fun. Be the difference"
