Demi Lovato discovers secret half-sister

Demi Lovato has revealed she recently discovered that she has a half-sister.

The X Factor USA judge explained that she only found out about her secret sibling last year.

The singer revealed that her estranged father had another daughter over 10 years before marrying her mother.

However, Lovato did not reveal the name or any other information about her new sister when discussing it on the Dana & Jeffrey in the Morning radio show yesterday (March 5).

She said: "I have an older sister that I've never known my whole life. She's in her 30s. She's my half-sister but I talked to her for the very first time in my life around when I turned 20.

"I asked her, I said, 'Why haven't you ever contacted me?' and she just said, 'Well, because I never wanted you to think that I wanted anything from you. I've just been kinda waiting to see if you wanted a relationship'."

Lovato added: "I just thought that was so incredible. I have a third sister that I didn't know until this year."

Demi Lovato is highly likely to reprise her role as a judge on Fox's X Factor USA, it was recently reported.

Her latest track 'Heart Attack' stormed to the top of the US iTunes chart after being released in late February.
