Image
People News Apr 30, 2012, 15:02 GMT Demi Lovato Demi Lovato feels 'very lucky' to have Selena Gomez as a best friend. The 'Skyscraper' hitmaker considers the singer - who is dating Justin Bieber - to be one of her closest friends but rarely gets to see her because they both work so much. She said: 'I'm very lucky to have someone like her in my life. 'Selena and I have been friends for a long time, but because of our schedules we don't get to see each other very often. Sometimes, we call each other and arrange to meet so we can catch up.' However, the pair have not always been so close - Selena previously said she did not believe in giving 'third of fourth chances' to people when discussing her friendship with Demi, although did profess she loved her no matter what. She said: 'I believe in second chances, but I don't believe in third or fourth chances. I love talking through things, and I always want to make things work, if I really lo

Demi Lovato responds to cocaine rumors

Demi Lovato has tackled long-running rumors she used cocaine while battling personal problems, admitting she was desperate to recreate the adrenaline rush of live concerts. The Disney star sought professional help in 2010 for a number of issues, including an eating disorder, depression and self-harming. Lovato has been brutally honest about her battles since leaving rehab, but has failed to respond to reports suggesting she was regularly using drugs before she faced her issues. However, she has now opened up about the subject in a new interview with Fabulous magazine , and when asked if she took cocaine in her dark days, she says, "It's something I don't really want to talk about. What I can say is that I was depressed. I would come off stage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I'd come crashing down and would try and find a way to recreate that feeling to stay up." And the singer claims she was regularly offered drugs by promoters to

Demi Lovato Swarmed By Mob Of Adorable Fans During Concert

April 27th, 2012 | 3:35 pm by Halle Kiefer Having your screaming audience suddenly appear on-stage would be a scary moment for any performer ( Miley Cyrus , you know what were talking about). Its probably slightly less intimidating, however, when the mob of fans is made up entirely of happy, squealing teenagers, as they were at Demi Lovato s concert in Paraguay last night. After allowing one section to get closer to the stage in what must have seemed like the best idea at the time, Lovato was almost immediately swept up in a million bear hugs by concert-goers who got bolted past security. Even Demi chiding the crowd is cute, considering what she could could be saying. You guys gotta be safe though!, Demi warns, even as they start to grab her. Aw girlyoure so sweet. Seriously though, youre lucky they didnt rip your vest off and take it home for their scrapbook. Luckily no one was hurt in the throng, even after other fans started trying to get their Demi Lovato hug on; everyone seems

Talking about her tormentors, she said: "They called me a whore and told me I was fat and ugly. I shouldn't have listened, but I took it to heart and it hurt. I thought maybe I didn't have friends because I was too fat." Deciding to take action, she began making herself throw up and lost more than 28lbs in six months, taking her weight to just 88lbs. She said: "I'd make myself sick up to six times a day. My mum was worried, but because I was going through puberty I was having growth spurts so she assumed that was why I was thinner." But when losing weight didn't make her happy, she turned to self-harm as a way to deal with her pain. She told Fabulous magazine: "It started with my wrists. People saw that, so I cut in places they couldn't see. "You do it because you feel so bad inside. You don't know how to take it out other than on yourself." Her demons eventually got the better of her and she ended up punching a backing dancer
