Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato defend their fellow 'X Factor' judge Britney Spears

With all of the hoopla surrounding Britney Spears reportedly walking off the set of X Factor during the shows first day of auditions and Spears first day as a judge, her co-judges are defending her.

Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato were asked if the rumors were true, and they took a joking spin on the situation.

"No, that was Demi," Cowell said, E! News reports. Lovato added, "I was like, you know, tired of Simon, so 'I had to just, like, go.

Cowell then took time to answer the question from the shows website honestly, saying "There was no walking off.

He explained, "We have breaks every 5 or 6 songs. You can go have a cigarette, you can go to the loo. So as soon as anyone left their chairs, it was reported...that someone had left the showand they hadn't!"

At the time, Spears took to her Twitter account to deny the reports, as well.
