Axed X Factor USA Finalist Hits Out At Demi Lovato Over Song Choice

Axed X Factor USA finalist Jennel Garcia has hit out at her former mentor Demi Lovato over her decision over what song she performed on the show last week.

Last week's X Factor results show saw two acts face the axe. Having already announced that Lyric 145 had been voted off, it was then down to Demi's acts Jennel Garcia and Paige Thomas to challenge each other in the sing-off.

As the decision went to deadlock, X Factor USA's co-hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez then announced that Jennel had been eliminated from the show. A result that Jennel believes may have been down to the song choice.

Recalling the moment Demi told her that she wanted her to sing Tina Turner's 'Proud Mary', TV Guide reported Jennel saying:

"I was completely against it. We had another song prepared and I was really fighting for that one. But unfortunately, she chose 'Proud Mary' and she thought that that could get me to the top of the voting chart. But it went the complete opposite direction."

However, Jennel was quick to add that Demi was "really upset about the whole thing."
