Demi Lovatos Blonde Locks: How You Can Get Them (Or Any Hair Color) At HomeDemiLovatoFeautreLooking to change up your color for summer like Demi? Hollywoodlife.com spoke exclusively with Clairol Color Director Marie Robinson about how to choose the perfect shaderead on for her great tips!

Walking through the hair color aisle in the drugstore can be daunting. With so many colors and formulations to choose from, the options are overwhelming! Never fear! Going blond like Demi Lovato, 19, or doing something more subtle, can be done at home with the right product know-how. Here, Maries advice for choosing just the right fit.

Figure out what type of change you want for your hair. If you want to subtly enhance your current shade, then opt for a demi or non-permanent hair color formula like Non-Permanent by Nice n Easy, says Marie. A demi-permanent hair color is perfect for women wanting to enhance their current shade, change up the tone, gently blend away grays or go slightly darker. Since it gradually fades after roughly 28 shampoos, its a good option if you want to change things up without the commitment.

For a more drastic change (one to two shades lighter or darker than your current shade) go with a permanent hair color, Marie advises. A permanent hair color will completely change the color of your hair, depending on your desired look. Just keep in mind youll ne! ed to go in for routine touchups to help maintain the color and hide root regrowth.

When it comes to choosing the actual shade, the type of jewelry you normally wear can help. For instance, if you wear a lot of silver and have lighter eyes, go with a cool tone. If you like to wear gold and have darker eyes and a darker complexion, go with a golden or bronze shade. If you usually wear both, go for a more neutral tone, says Marie.

After you find the right product for you, check out the back of the box to preview the results based on your current shade. Many women make the mistake of just looking at the front of the box, assuming thats what their results will look like, says Marie. The back panel shows you photos of results based on different base colors.

If you love Demis blonde locks, Marie recommends using Clairol Nice n Easy Color Blend Foam in Extra Light Blonde to get the look!
