Demi Lovato's Doing a Great Job on 'The X Factor,' Say Her Celebrity Pals

There's no denying that Demi Lovato is a star. She's managed to fight through serious personal demons to come back and land a coveted judge spot on "The X Factor."

The singer and actress told Teen Vogue that the offer came at the perfect time in her life. She said she was feeling stagnant and decided to envision the perfect career.

"I was ready to do something new, and I wanted to put that out there, in the universe and then [Simon Cowell] called, literally, a week and a half later," she said, adding that taking the job was "a no-brainer!"

We think she's doing amazing, but how do her celeb pals feel about her work?

Britney Spears

Britney Spears might be the older than Lovato, but she revealed to Zap2It that her younger colleague made her feel better about being a judge.

"I was extremely nervous the first day," Spears said. "I felt like I was going to come out of my body, but having her there and knowing it was her first time, too -- just that girl power and everything -- really helped."

Simon Cowell

It's pretty obvious that judge Simon Cowell has quite the crush on Lovato. The British record exec has made comments about dating her if she was younger, but the 21-year-old told Jimmy Kimmel that she'd never date her boss because "he parts his hair down the middle."

As for her judging skills? Cowell said she's a "brat" but "there's something really likeable about her."

L.A. Reid

Fellow judge and Epic Records head L.A. Reid can't say enough good things about the young singer and actress. He thinks she was the perfect choice for the job.

"The truth is that Demi is so close to the demographic that is currently the landscape for pop music," he said. "She's the closest to it. So she has great taste, and she really leads us."

He's right: Lovato does act like a leader and has a commanding presence.

Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas and Lovato became pals back in their Disney days - they even starred together on "Camp Rock." It's not just a fair weather friendship, either: The pair worked as co-judges on Wednesday night's episode of "The X Factor" and he couldn't say enough good things about her abilities.

"I think she's great as a judge," he told MTV News. "I think she has an incredible ear for music. I know that over time, I love and have loved writing music with her."

We'd love to see these two together in the future as boyfriend and girlfriend, but that might be awkward since she used to date brother Joe Jonas.
