Fox Renews 'The X Factor' for a Third Season

Fox definitely has The X Factor.

Simon Cowell's reality singing competition has been renewed for a third season. Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment for Fox announced the good news on Monday afternoon.

This season, Simon and the producers of The X Factor took an already strong show and made it absolutely fantastic, Darnell said in a release. The format changes are working, the contestants are unbelievably talented, and [new judges] Britney [Spears] and Demi [Lovato] alongside Simon and L.A [Reid] have brought an incredibly fun new chemistry to the judges panel that our fans really love. We feel great about the show and Im thrilled to bring it back next year for Season 3.

Simon Cowell was equally as enthusiastic about the renewal. I couldnt be happier about The X Factor already being renewed for another season, he added. Our main commitment will always be to find great talent, and lets not forget, we are now days away from our first live shows. The gloves are off! Expect fireworks!

The revamped second season of The X Factor, which added Britney Spears and Demi Lovato as judges and will soon feature Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez and hosts, has been averagi! ng 10.6 million total viewers, with a 3.9 rating among adults 18-49.
