Demi Lovato has appeared to slam X Factor USA act Emblem 3 by claiming that they have become "so manufactured" during their time on the show.

Giving her views on the boys: Drew Chadwick, 20; Keaton Stromberg, 16, and his brother, Wesley, 18, USA Today reports Demi saying:

"The thing is, they're not doing what we saw in this very first audition. It was an original song of theirs that I got stuck in my head. Now it's a little uncomfortable because they've become so manufactured.

"It looked like they were having so much fun. If Simon takes away their originality, it won't work."

However, the star did admit that the talented boys did have charm on their side, even revealing that she finds the boys "cute".

She said: "Their biggest strength is their charm. They're very, very charming boys. They're very cute. They've got the whole surfer boy thing going on. There's a lot of boy bands, yes, but there aren't any that I feel have really, really strong vocals and a unique quality to them."

Demi's comments come after the star got into a spat with Simon Cowell during the show about the boys. Having riled Simon last week with his comments, Demi then told the boys:

"You guys di! d great, but it was not the best. I used to really like you guys but to me I feel like it is a downgraded version of the Jonas Brothers five years ago."

Despite Demi's comments about the boys, she did admit that the band are "guaranteed" to do well once the show ends, even if they don't win. She told USA Today:

"They'll be fine after this, whether they win or not. It's guaranteed, the top four will go on."
