Demi Lovato has urged her fans to support the families of the Newtown shooting victims, by way of a moving rendition of 'Angels Among Us'.

The X Factor USA mentor posted the performance to her YouTube account on Christmas Eve, and it has since clocked in almost 120,000 views.

Demi's post on Twitter sharing the clip has also had an amazing 20,000 Retweets and 12,000 Favourites.

An opening message reads: We can never imagine what the families in Newtown, CT are experiencing right now. And while there is nothing we can do to replace their loss, we can stand together and support them during this difficult time.

"This song is in honor of those angels we lost on December 14."

Fans are asked to support the cause at WeAreNewtown.org.
