Demi Lovato is telling her story through her songs on upcoming new album
The album does not have a title or release date yet
Demi Lovato is getting fans excited for her new yet-to-be-titled album, set to be released sometime this year.
Lovato recently opened up about her new album in an interview with MTV News. She says her follow-up to 2011's Unbroken will be much more personal than her past albums. She says through this album she's telling her story.
"Not only does the album say a lot about where I am in life right now [but] like there's follow-up songs," she said. "I feel like one is a follow-up song to 'Skyscraper.' I feel like other ones talk about some issues I haven't spoken about. I'm continuing to let out a lot of things therapeutically on my music and I'm very thankful I have the opportunity to do that."
Lovato also hopes this album will silence those who talked negatively about her role on the X Factor
"Well I definitely want to back up why I was a mentor on 'X Factor.' I don't want to go on my album and kind of make people think 'Well what does she know about judging?'" she added. "And I definitely think I'm going to accomplish hopefully a positive response."
The 20-year-old will release a new single, "Heart Attack" on March 4. Billboard describes the song as a "celebration of life and love."
