X Factor USA's Demi Lovato: 'Lady GaGa should replace Britney Spears'

X Factor USA judge Demi Lovato has suggested that Lady GaGa should replace Britney Spears on the series.

Spears announced her departure from The X Factor's judging panel in January in order to focus on her music career.

There has been wide speculation about Spears's replacement on The X Factor, with Lovato telling Extra that GaGa seems like a logical choice.

"I would love to see Lady GaGa. I don't know if that is possible or not," she admitted.

Lovato also expressed hopes that she will be asked back to The X Factor, but acknowledged that a deal has not yet been agreed.

"I'm focusing on my music this year, so it's going to be a lot of touring, a lot of promoting of my album... but I would love to return," she commented.

"Obviously, if they asked for me to come back on [The X Factor], I'd say yes."

Original X Factor USA judge LA Reid additionally quit the Fox series at the end of the second season last year.

The X Factor will return to Fox later in the year.
