Demi Lovato says dating her is a big responsibility

Demi Lovato has been through a whirlwind this past year, battling an eating disorder and self-inflicted injuries, as well as a much publicized emotional breakdown. Given these circumstances, the 19-year-old former Disney star realizes she may not be the easiest person to date.

In the January issue of Glamour magazine, Lovato explains that she needs someone that will be supportive in both her career and in her recovery.

Its a big responsibility dating me. Because I come with a little bit of baggage, you know? she said.

Lovato is reportedly dating former That 70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama, 31. She was first romantically linked to the actor last year after breaking up with ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas back in May.

In addition to revealing her dating criteria, the singer opens up about the tattoos she got on top of her cutting scars on her wrists and how they have helped her heal.

I think scars are like battle wounds-beautiful, in a way, she said. They show what youve been through and how strong you are for coming out of it.

She explains how one wrist has a tattoo that reads Stay while the other has a tattoo that reads Strong.

Now Im able to look at them and be thankful for being alive, she said.
