Demi Lovato to record with Kelly Clarkson

Demi Lovato and Kelly Clarkson came together last Friday to perform "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" at New York's Z100 Jingle Ball.

She [Kelly Clarkson] actually was backstage and she was like we should sing a duet together and I was like of course, anything you want. And then we basically came up with the idea to sing a Christmas carol together," Lovato told Just Jared of their duet. "It was amazing, I was so excited.

After the performance, the singers exchanged admiration for one another via Twitter, and expressed a desire to sing together again.

@ddlovato girl we have got to sing together again! Clarkson tweeted. You have such a powerful and beautiful voice! I love your spirit! Thanks for singing with me tonight :)

On Monday, Clarkson confirmed that she will, in fact, hit the studio with Lovato, 19.

Its a song a friend of mine wrote. Its killer and Ive been wanting to sing it for a while. Its very like urban, pop/rock, and we both like that, Kelly told Just Jared. Its my normal anthem, shove it in your face [type of song].
