Demi Lovato taking a "break" from Twitter

Demi Lovato has announced she is taking a "break" from Twitter.

The 'Skyscraper' singer told her 5.6 million followers over the weekend that she was stepping away from the social networking website, although didn't specify exactly how long she would remain offline.

Lovato tweeted: "Twitter break. It's for the best actually. Who allows me to have this thing anyways?!!! I just get myself in trouble! Haha. Anyway... BYE! (sic)"

The teenager had earlier tweeted: "Can't please everyone."

Former Sonny with a Chance star Lovato returned to Twitter in March 2011 after deciding to take a break from the website the previous year.

Lovato is currently promoting her third studio album Unbroken, which spawned the hit single 'Skyscraper' and latest release 'Give Your Heart A Break'.

She performed the track at the People's Choice Awards earlier this month, where she also picked up the 'Favourite Pop Artist' prize.

Lovato recently said that one of her biggest ambitions is to be involved with the Grammy Awards, whether it is as a performer or nominee, and has said that she would like to work with Eminem.
