Tuned In: Demi Lovato Prefers Older Men

(Getty)Sorry, One Direction fans who'd like to see their beloved Niall Horan settle down with his crush Demi Lovato: It's probably never going to happen. Lovato recently told an interviewer she plans to stay single for a while, and what's more, she digs 'em older. Big sadface.

Also in music news, the One Direction boys are getting wet in their new music video, Madonna has apologized to her fans Down Under, Rihanna is supposedly flirting with Robert Pattinson, and she and a bunch of other great people are to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. Check it.

Despite a rumored flirtation with One Direction's Niall Horan, Demi Lovato is staying single in a bid to figure herself out. She says that she's basically got a zero tolerance policy when it comes to the opposite sex, right now.

"There's actually nothing that a guy can do to change my mind right now. It doesn't matter how frickin' good-looking you are, or funny, or how in love with them I am. Right now, there's nobody more important to me than myself or my recovery," Lovato told iVillage.

"I think that's a thing that a lot of young girls need to remember. There's no one more important than themselves, especially when it comes to girls that are in their late teens or early teens and are trying to figure out who they are. It's really easy to be influenced by a guy that you like, and this is a period of time when you need to figure out yourself."

Whenever Demi does return to the dating pool, it's unlikely she'll go for babyfaced Horan, no matter how many times he publicly proclaims his admiration for her. Lovato, who has been romantically linked to Wilmer Valderrama, 32, and ! Ryan Phillippe, 37, admits that she's into mature men: "I guess I've always just liked older guys, because my first celebrity crush was Leonardo DiCaprio when I was 5."

Images from the music video shoot for One Direction's upcoming single "Live While We're Young" have already made their way onto the Interwebs, and fans are sure to find them more than satisfactory. The video appears to have a wet and wild theme that involves sopping shirts, water guns, and a gigantic inflatable banana. The single won't be released until October 1.

On Sunday, Madonna issued a heartfelt audio apology to her fans in Australia for canceling her MDNA tour dates Down Under. The singer explained that she was forced to pull out for personal reasons.

"Because my children are older, I can't take them on the road with me everywhere. I have to spend more time away from them and at the end of the year I really feel that I would be an irresponsible parent if I didn't stop my tour and spend time with them," Madonna said, noting that her daughter Lourdes, 16, will soon leave home.

"Please forgive me and know that when I do come to Australia, I will have made the wait worth your while and I will put on the greatest show on earth," Madonna promised.

Today's gossip to be taken with a grain of salt: Rihanna is supposedly sending Robert Pattinson sexy text messages because, you know, she does that kind of thing.

An anonymous source (aka an OK! Magazine staffer with MPD) told OK! Magazine, "The! y've met ! several times at award bashes over the years. RiRi thinks he's very cute, but nothing ever came of it because he was attached to Kristen Stewart and it's not her style to steal someone else's man."

"She got Rob's phone number from a mutual friend and has been sending him sexy, funny texts to cheer him up," said someone who actually thinks that Rihanna goes by the name RiRi.

In news that's actually been confirmed: Rihanna, Frank Ocean, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Green Day, and Pink are all going to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards September 6. It's gonna be MAJOR.

Time for a NSFW banned video! No but really, be careful watching Voltaire Twins' "Solaris" at work, since it's been banned from YouTube for toplessness. Banned videos are the bomb, but the band's not all that flattered. In their words:

I know it seems like getting your video banned is really good publicity, but when it happened we were genuinely a bit hurt that someone would take offence to this thing we'd put so much effort and love into. Also, YouTube is the most widespread medium for music videos, and it felt like we'd been denied an opportunity to share the video with everyone. We put it up on Vimeo instead and in the couple of days since it's had about 5000 views and we've had so many messages from people who love the video and are outraged that YouTube would pull it. I think most people agree that there's just nothing inappropriate or exploitative in it. It's art, not sleaze - anyone with half a brain can see that. The people in the video are enjoying themselves in what we feel is a wholesome and beautiful fashion. Anyone who gets offended by topless girls or same-sex kissing is missing out on a lot. The joke's on them, because ther! e must be! a lot of beautiful things they can't enjoy in life.

Enjoy!
